This is an original 1950s tinplate convertible car made by MF Japan (Modern Toys / Masudaya), one of the best-known Japanese post-war toymakers. Finished in pale blue with racing number 3, this model features a tin lithographed interior and the factory-original wooden driver and passenger figures.
The underside number MF763 identifies this as an authentic Modern Toys model. It’s a wonderful example of early Japanese tinplate design and has a strong decorative presence, perfect for collectors of vintage toys, automobilia, and mid-century display pieces.
Condition:
Played-with vintage condition. Areas of paint wear, small dents to the bodywork, age-related tarnish and surface rust to metal parts, and some bending to the windscreen frame. Friction mechanism untested but still makes beeping sound! Still displays beautifully and remains complete with both original figures.
A lovely survivor with plenty of nostalgic character.
